VINELink in Giles County
Tennessee runs its custody-status and victim-notification service through VINE, and the public face of it is VINELink. The state launched the current version in 2021. Deployment materials describe a tool meant to reach all 95 county jails, though that wide plan does not promise every Giles County booking appears right away.
Start a live search by picking Tennessee. Select Giles County where the option exists. Read each result by its actual custody source.
VINE does two jobs. It can help locate a named person in a participating local or state feed. It can also send notices when that person is released, moved, or hits another tracked status. It is not a full list of everyone arrested in Giles County. Someone cited and released, booked in another county, or entered under a different spelling may simply not appear.
A VINELink custody result for Giles County simply shows where a person is held right now.
Check a Giles Arrest on VINELink
Go straight to the official VINELink service. The app is dynamic, so deep links to internal screens can break. Begin at the main site rather than a saved result URL. Bring the person's exact name spelling. Add an offender or booking ID if you have one.
- Open VINELink and choose Tennessee.
- Select the person-search option and enter the name or available offender ID.
- Review all plausible matches, especially when a name is common.
- Open Record Details and confirm the facility, identifier, and current status.
- Compare the result with Giles County Jail or TDOC FOIL based on the custody type.
Before relying on VINELink, the Giles County recent-arrests hub lays out the underlying booking record and the official jail roster. That source check comes first. VINELink adds status alerts on top of it. The official service also displays the Tennessee search interface shown here.

Fields and county choices can shift as the application updates. Use the live options at the moment of the search.
Giles VINELink Custody Fields
What a result shows depends on the agency and its record. Expect a custody status, a facility or location, an offender identifier, and a link for details or notifications. A missing field means nothing on its own. Confirm gaps with the agency that holds the record.
| VINELink item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name | Match exact spelling and compare another identifier |
| Offender or booking ID | A stronger match than a name alone |
| Custody status | The status reported by the participating feed at that moment |
| Facility or location | Where the feed places the person, subject to update timing |
| Record Details | The route to available facts and notification options |
| Get Notified | The registration path for supported custody changes |
A release notice records movement. It does not explain why. Bond, a completed sentence, a transfer, or something else could be behind it, and the notice stays silent. The court file holds the legal outcome.
County and State VINE Records
County and state results sit at different stages. A Giles County Jail record may cover someone just booked, awaiting a hearing, serving local time, or held for another agency. TDOC records cover state prison, parole, probation, and other state custody. VINELink can pull from both, so the facility named in a result tells you which system you are seeing.
For state offenders, confirm through TDOC FOIL. FOIL takes a first and last name with race, or a TDOC/TOMIS and state ID. Results may include a photo, offense, sentence, location, parole details, and status. It is not a fresh county-booking tool. A FOIL photo can also postdate the booking image.
When custody shifts from county to state, identifiers and locations can change. Attach the date and source to every status statement.
Register for Giles Custody Alerts
Once the right record is open, choose Get Notified. You can also pick the similar action the service offers. Tennessee's TDOC announcement lists phone, email, TTY, and text as signup channels. Pick one you check often. Follow every verification prompt. A PIN or other security step may be required. This ensures only the registrant controls the alerts.
- Open the correct Record Details page.
- Select Get Notified and choose the custody event offered.
- Enter the phone, email, text, or TTY destination requested.
- Create or record the PIN and complete the confirmation step.
- Keep the offender identifier and update the registration if contact details change.
Alerts are not emergency protection. Call 911 for an immediate threat. Live VINE operators answer at 888-868-4631 around the clock. A notice can also arrive after the fact, so urgent safety decisions belong with direct official contact too.
Fresh Giles Arrests May Lag
VINE only knows what custody systems feed it. A fresh Giles arrest must become a jail record first. Then the notification service picks it up. Tennessee's statewide rollout shows a clear intent to cover county jails, yet no booking gets a promise of instant or perfect data.
No result? Check the spelling. Try an identifier. Compare the official Arrests Last 24 Hours view and the current Giles ISOMS roster. For a time-sensitive custody question, call Giles County Jail at 931-363-3505. A blank VINELink screen never proves an arrest did not happen.
Note: State every status with its source and check time, since a release or transfer can precede a public screen refresh.
VINELink Coverage Limits
VINELink covers state and local custody, not federal systems. It is not the Bureau of Prisons locator, the U.S. Marshals Service, or the ICE detainee locator. Someone serving a federal sentence appears in the BOP search instead. A federal pretrial detainee may sit in any mix of federal, state, local, or private facilities, and the Marshals rarely release photographs of prisoners. Immigration custody is its own track. The ICE Online Detainee Locator handles it, with separate identity requirements.
VINE is not a warrant database either. It offers no criminal-history report and no court docket. Giles County publishes no stable public active-warrant search, so a warrant question goes to the Sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk, the relevant city agency, or an attorney. And a missing VINE entry never means a person is clear.
For urgent custody questions, confirm with the agency holding the person. Search results can lag behind reality because of feed delays, transfers, name spellings, and releases.
VINE Alerts and Court Outcomes
An alert from the system tells you that custody changed. That is all it tells you. A Giles County booking entry lists the charges as booked on the day of arrest. Those charges can shift later. Prosecutors may amend or reduce them, dismiss the case outright, or take it to trial. Bond release, a transfer between jails, or a blank roster field settles nothing. None of it tells you the outcome.
For the answer to that, go to the Giles County Circuit Court Clerk. The clerk keeps Circuit, General Sessions, Juvenile, and Traffic records. Bring a case number. Ask for the charging instrument, any orders, and the final judgment. Tennessee's appellate Public Case History covers appeals only. It cannot stand in for a trial-court lookup in Giles County.
Note: VINELink shines at one job, checking a participating custody record and sending status notifications for a single person.
